Parents over protecting?

-My parents are over protective they won't even let me go to my cousins house!! Is this a good thing? They say that they can trust me but still won't let me do much like I'm almost 15 and I still don't have a phone!! Soo should I be appreciative or try to get more trust from them??They are either hiding something or they are just really over protective, not in a good way, rules and boundaries are beneficial but not when they are extreme if you have done something in the past that would cause them to have trust issues with you then you will have to try to correct the issue with them, if nothing has happened them you are going to have to have a serious chat with them and explain that you need freedom to become street wise and learn from your own mistakes or else they will push you away. Good luck!Okay your parents really love you and wants to make sure you are safe. Like you just said, "still won't let me do much?" Well how bout what is it that you do much to show you are appreciative of them? Start doing something positive like do chores without them asking you, sit and talk to them about their day, just be more caring towards your parents and be more responsible without them telling you to do things. This will show how appreciative you are.
They are being a little over protective unless your cousin is a ex felon. If you want to get more respect from them give them more respect and get a job. Then when your 16 you can pay for your gas and car and go where ever you want when you want.
