Just ask her for it, and if you feel the need to, just tell her that you'd like to get to know her more or that you would want to hang out with her sometime. She'll be impressed that you were brave enough to ask for it = )
And I don't mean just walk up to her and start the conversation with, "Can I have your number?" because then that would turn out like the SNL skit. You don't think if you get her number and she receives a text from you that it won't be awkward? I know if I randomly got a text from some guy I really didn't know, I'd be like how did you get my number and telling her friends would MAYBE get her disappointed of her friends or make you sound scared to talk to her and if you say fb or something like that you sound kinda stalkerish. Just be nice and stop her sometime when you see her and just start by saying "Hi" & you'll probably get farther then getting her number by something/someone. Hope I helped ya out, best of luck !
Well the best thing to do is be yourself! And don't be scared to ask for her number, if your hesitant you and her will feel awkward. And be serious and nice! That way she won't feel as if your messing with her!

I say jut ask her. We (at least I do) LOVE confidence in a guy. Shy is cute; confidence is sexy. :) Go for it, man. The worst that could happen is she says no. Especially if you just want to be friends. You only get one first impression. Make her remember it. xxx

send her a message on facebook, and start talking to her through there. and if it starts to go somewhere, ask for her number. after talking to her for awhile on facebook, you should be more confident asking for her number. hope this helps:)
If you just want to be friends then it shouldnt be akward. But if you think it will just invite her to a private chat on FB and ask her then. But don't be like "can I have your number?" be more like "hey why don't we swap numbers? Texting would be much easier than talking online"
Just if you see her texting or something on her phone say "cool phone, I wish my phone ws that cool" then pull out yours and show it to her. And then say can I have your number? And she'll most likely say yes! Good luck! :)

Be chill and chat with her a bit then just ask. If she says no dont let it phase you..you just said you dont wanna date her soo no harm done.
