I'm just curious why parents are so overprotected?

-I'm 14 i had my first kiss around May 2011 i just turn 14 in May i did tell me brother about it i was too scared to tell my parents they will get mad then July i finally told my mom she was freaked out told me it was inappropriate btw it was just a peck most of my friends had their first kiss at 13 or younger

some of their parents don't care and then mom told dad im growing up they think im growing up too fast i know im not fast now they asking if im having sex and if im kissing alot guys i just kiss on guy i'm a virgin i'm proud of it i'm gonna stay a virgin till i'm grown and married sometimes i can't stand my parents specially my mom she treats me like a baby plus when i get to high school i mite end up getting boyfriend alot of my friends and family thinks im pretty and beautiful and guys tease me so i love my family but i hated when they are over protected when i get to high school i'm just getting in education hangout with friends and playing soccer im 14 not 12 and 13 i'm tired of my parents saying that stuff is inappropriateYou will probably not understand why your parents are so protective of you until you have your own children. They love you and don't want anything bad to happen to you. When you told them you had your first kiss they got scared and now they think you are going to do other things with boys. You need to sit down and tell them that you are only interested in getting an education and having fun with friends. Also tell them that you are not going to have sex till you are married. That should make them feel much better. But when you do get into high school and get a boyfriend it will be hard to not have sex with him unless he has the same feeling that you do to wait till you are married. PLEASE just use protection. Hope this helps.Their your parents, its probably natural. And if your the oldest, they haven't gone through all of it before so their nervous. Some of my friends got their first kiss in preschool. Just ask your parents to stop nosing around (politely) and promise not to have sex or do anything like that.

parents will always be over-protective! u will ONLY get it one day when u become a parent, hard as it may be for now just try to understand them and meet them halfway even the most controlling parents can be softened, so sit down with mum and tell her u are responsible, ask her to give u sum credit and a lil bit of trust too and try develop a bit of a friendship, although she may never stop being mum and protecting you but, she may be less of a nag.
